This took such a long time, because I used only vertical lines, but I really like how it turned out, so it was worth the effort. :]

I think that's an interesting trick of the smoke rising up from his mouth.

Yesterday brought today, so yesterday is a part of today. But today cannot bring tomorrow, because tomorrow never comes. It's always a day away.

Well, I was supposed to distort an image within a grid, but I ended up just doing a vertical grid...
And then, I basically "drew" by making vertical lines of different thicknesses - there isn't a single non-vertical stroke in this. The thin details like the hair and the mesh shirt were kind of tricky and tedious... Finally, I went over it all with an ink wash, still using only vertical strokes.

I can't believe I did this in one day. @_@
